"I loved being there, and meeting old friends and new. It was a lot more interesting than I had expected. I came to hear Silvia and as usual she was fascinating. I was very grateful for the main topic of her talk "guiding stars" which is the most difficult part of EV as most clients flatly refuse to evolve a guiding star in spite of the fact it has wrecked their life. Silvia suggested EFT on the Metacomments. Although I have sometimes had to EFT surrogately with guiding stars. Sandra too is always interesting. The following presentation on remote viewing was very interesting, and has got me thinking. I loved the variety and the chance to meet people from other fields, I regret being unable to attend on the Sunday and feel sure the recordings will turn up. Thanks for organising it so well."
- Teri Howlett, Confernce Delegate
"Thank you so much for a wonderful week-end and day on Monday. I found all the presentations very useful. It was so good to be part of such wonderful people and to touch the goodness of the human heart. Yes it is very energising to be among like-minded people. Thank you so much to each and every one who contributed and especially to the AMT team!"
- Margarita Foley, Conference Delegate
"Thank you so much for all the really great speakers at the recent conference. Although I was only able to attend the second day, I found all the speakers, without exception, to be engaging, inspirational and enlightening. The conference organisation was excellent, and all your input, great."
- Jane Leclercq, Conference Delegate
"I, of course, really enjoyed meeting so many interesting and uplifting people. The networking is really important and beyond that, the connection to others. I did appreciate that they were from so many different places and countries. I was also happy with the presentations. I knew some of the areas better but even though, I thought every presentation gave me something. Some presentations felt weaker than the others, but surprisingly, I carry these inspirations nearly higher afterwards than the presentations I felt was strong and qualitive at the moment."
- Cilla Lye, Conference Delegate
"I would firstly like to say that I thought [The AMT] team did an absolutely brilliant job at the conference. Sitting close to your work area I could see just how much work you all put in to keep everything moving so smoothly. This was the first AMT conference I have attended but it definitely will not be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed the talks given by everyone on such a wide variety of topics. I came away wanting to learn more and take more courses. It is such a joy being in a room full of like minded people, I met some lovely people and have made a couple of new friends which is lovely."
- Carole Smith, Conference Delegate
"Loved every minute of it and immediately booked to come to the EmoTrance conference in April. Mark Atkinson was an excellent presenter, inspiring and it was wonderful to hear a medical doctor talking about the things we believe in and work with and I also learnt some new concepts from him. All the presenters were excellent and I was inspired to take the Energy Cone Therapy training with Ray and Tom after having a session with Ray on the Sat. I was impressed and know I can incorporate it into my work. It was lovely to meet previous acquaintances and make new friends and I was able to help one lady with the work I do. It was good to do exercises with a partner and practise what was being taught. I felt part of a family of like minded people and can't wait for the next one."
-Lynda Jakiro, Conference Delegate
Kim Bradley Writes: The third European EFT & Energy Psychology Conference was amazing. Everyone agreed that there was something for everyone with new techniques to be learnt and known techniques developed. I particularly enjoyed socialising and networking with people of like mind and finding out how they are using these ground breaking techniques on themselves and in their therapy practice.
Sandra Hillawi was a fabulous MC and kicked off the programme with helping us find our own X-Factor. We were asked to think about how shiny and sparkly we felt and how much we felt we attracted the qualities we need in to our lives. Using various mediums to release stuck energy we all felt so much better for it and it was the perfect opener for the two days that followed.
In her inimitable style Dr. Silvia Hartmann explained to us about her new concept of Events Psychology. It was an extremely eye opening session as I learnt that often we are healing the fallout of an event and not the actual event itself. I got so many nuggets of information from this section and more importantly the thought provoking nature of it helped me to point out many areas in my life I needed healing on that I had completely forgotten about.
Some of the techniques I have never tried before were CRV-Remote Viewing by Paul O’Connor, The Cone technique by Ray Manning and Tom Wynn and Awakening the Psychic Within by Alan Bridges. I found each of these fascinating and have used the techniques since. Alan posed a question “where am I?” in order for us to learn where we felt our sense of self currently is. I have had many times since where this has been an extremely useful question. Only yesterday I was with a client who told me she felt like she was toppling forward. Asking her to think about the question showed that she felt she was outside and in front of her chest area. Alan’s technique helped me to show her how to bring herself back to a more centred and grounded place. Ray and Tom’s technique of healing the meridians through the hands showed a very gentle yet powerful approach to healing. After doing some EmoTrance on myself yesterday I then sat and used the Cone Technique on my hands to help my energy to settle in to a new way of thinking and being. It certainly helped to heal any last remaining aspects as I thought about the issue and found my Cranial Sacral Rhythm.
Detlev Tesch showed us how to really get the most out of Energy Dancing. It was a fantastic session and we all felt our energy was lifted, our heart rate elevated and we had moved energy and exercised our body in the most natural way possible. I really think there is potential for an Energy Dancing Work Out Video!! Dr. Mark Atkinson’s talk was very interesting as he showed us how, as a GP, he has integrated these techniques with his patients. We got so many useful tips of homework we can give to our own clients so that they can continue their healing journey’s in their own time.
Margareet Vink ‘s talk was definitely Provocative as she had us in fits of laughter. Provocative Therapy reminds me of being the anti-hero in that for once you can agree completely with your client’s statements of misery and despair. I have a client at the moment that is, in fact, completely fed up with people telling her to change her ways. She is working very hard and is constantly being told to slow down which finds her doing the opposite and working harder still. She found it most refreshing to have her therapist say that I actually felt she was not working hard enough and that she should come to me completely collapsed next time and I’ll scoop her off the floor and get her up and running again so she can work harder still!! Of course you have to know your client well and it made for a very funny yet deeply transformational session with this client who has started to slow down of her own accord now and for the first time in years has had no headaches.
The two days were rounded up with even more fantastic techniques we can use on ourselves and with clients. Sally Topham showed us how to revive and awaken our energy system particularly in the morning. She showed us a routine we can easily follow and I feel this will be of particular benefit for clients whose energy system is very shut down. Dr. Terry Lynch, who I have great pleasure in working with, showed everyone Meridian Massage. Terry said, “Meridian Massage will be as groundbreaking to body workers as EFT was to psychology and counselling”. We are finding ways of healing the body and energy system through physical touch and Terry demonstrated on an audience member and very quickly healed a shoulder complaint which she had had for 4 years.
It was an amazing conference and worth every single penny for I healed myself on many deep layers, layers I was not even aware of before I arrived at the Europa Hotel. I have gained so many useful ideas and information that I have already put to use with my clients. I cannot recommend highly enough that you put time aside and come to these conferences. The next one is the EmoTrance annual Conference on 30th April 2011 where I sincerely look forward to seeing some old friends again and meeting many new ones.
Warm wishes

Read on for another great Conference report, this time from Christina McPherson, an EFT Trainer from Caifornia, USA...

The AMT were happy to welcome a record number of delegates to 2010's Conference -
This is just a few of them!
Christina McPherson writes: The 2010 AMT Conference, held November 13-14 at the Hotel Europa near Gatwick airport, started off on a high note and did not let up until the picture at the end. The conference was kicked off by Sandra Hilawi, who questioned us on the elusive “X Factor”: what it is and how to get it. To break the ice in the room, we worked in pairs to release any blockages we might have to sparkling. The room livened up immediately, and I enjoyed the exercise with my partner, as we came from different energy therapy backgrounds.
Silvia Hartmann took the stage after Sandra, and the room was filled with electric anticipation and attention for the duration of her talk. One could see the light bulbs going off over everyone’s heads as she discussed garden gnomes and Guiding Stars, convincing us all easily that the repercussions of a Guiding Star moment are much more devastating than a simple (simple!) trauma. What we take away from Silvia’s enlightening talk is that we are arrogant if we think we can cure our clients. The goal is to evolve them, helping them to move toward a new and better state of functioning.
The late morning and afternoon of the first day were then filled with all kinds of fun and thrilling techniques. Paul O’Connor started us off with CRV-Remote Viewing, leading us through an exercise where we tried to “see” the location of a museum. His guided meditation taught us that we all have the ability and, like any skill, it needs to be honed to be effective. After lunch, we had the extraordinary experience of energy dancing with Detlev Tesch. Ensuring that we closed our eyes so no one would watch or judge, we used our bodies and music to release tension and emotion (and the post-lunch sleepies!). As Detlev puts it, “by simply allowing natural intuitive movements to happen, the wisdom of our body and energy system enters the process and multiplies possibilities.”
Alan Bridges then taught us how to be psychic, illustrating for each of us that the skill is a natural one that we can strengthen with practice. While we didn’t come out of the exercise knowing how to play the currency markets or the outcome of the next football match, we did learn a valuable tool in developing our own abilities.
The beginning of day two found us listening to Dr. Mark Atkinson, who gave an energetic and emotional talk on Total Well-Being – Your Gateway into a Truly Healthy & Fulfilling Life. After his call to action, “Total well-being is an invitation to wake up and grow up,” I think the entire room was ready to stand up behind him to heal the universe. After that rousing start to the morning, we learned about the Energy Cone Technique (ECT) from Ray Manning and Tom Wynn. ECT is a meridian energy therapy that uses points on the hand that show emotion to clear those emotions and traumas. What is unique about ECT is that the practitioner does not need to know what the client’s trauma or emotion is to clear it; ECT can be used without words.
Margaret Vink then taught us how to use Provocative Therapy to make our client sessions fun as well as effective. Provocative Therapy uses the technique of agreeing with the client’s distorted views in an attempt (generally successful!) to diffuse their defenses and illuminate for them how silly the ideas they hold to tightly can be. The exercise for this session was filled with fun and humor, and we all took away a new technique to use with clients immediately.
After lunch, again we were able to get on our feet and energize our bodies. Sally Topham taught us a series of movements – energy routines & techniques to make us sparkle. The eight techniques, designed to combat every day stress, keep the meridians open, help the Chi flow freely, expel toxic energies, and strengthen and protect the aura, left us energized and ready for the final presenter of the conference, Dr. Terry Lynch.
Dr. Terry taught us about IAM, Inner Awareness Massage, the intersection of energy therapies and body work, where EmoTrance is combined with meridian massage. She challenged us to ask the question, “If these hands could heal, where would you want these healing hands to go?” IAM is a way to help our clients find their life’s purpose, by connecting them to why they hurt, and helping them to embrace it. With that final speaker, the conference was over. We each took a little or a lot from each presenter, writing notes to ourselves on how to incorporate what we had learned into our practices, or taking down the ideas we wanted to explore further. The only question that remains is, when can we do this again?
