Stage fright is a taboo subject for many professional performers. So many people suffer, but to admit to it can be seen as a sign of weakness. With little effective help available (until now) too many performers fail to achieve their potential and use beta blockers or alcohol to survive a performance. The pressure of a great opportunity can turn a top sportsman or woman’s dreams into dust, and when nerves take over in a driving test or an exam and you fail because of them it can be heart breaking.
Many performers focus on developing their technical skills but don’t know how to cope with stress - their coaches and teachers often are unable to help their pupils deal with negative emotion.
Sean has found that this simple relaxation technique EFT has an extraordinary effect when dealing with negative thinking. The inner critic that can often destroy a performance can be silenced.
In his presentation Sean would like to share what he has learned from working with some of the country’s top musicians and performers on how to use EFT to deal with the body’s fight or flight response to stress.
His unique approach, combining performance psychology with this simple technique, helps free players /performers from stage fright and enjoy playing again, students get the grades they deserve and learner drivers pass their test.
About Sean
Sean has a wide range of experience of helping musicians, singers, actors, sportsmen and women deal with performance anxiety. His clients include members of the BBC National Orchestra for Wales, West End singers/actors, the Welsh National Opera and students at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He is also working with some of the top young tennis, basketball players and golfers in Wales and his skills have been used on BBC TV’s ‘Dancing on Ice’.
Sean is also helping students deal with the emotional pressure of taking their exams and driving tests.
He has been featured in the Western Mail, helping golfers with ‘demons in their game’ and earlier this year teamed up with the national driving magazine, ADI news, to help learner drivers and trainee driving instructors who were failing their driving tests because of nerves. The results were remarkable in both trials – a 100% success rate.
Sean and his clients have also been featured in The Stage, Good Housekeeping and the Musicians Union magazine. He is a regular guest on Real Radio and BBC Radio Wales.
Sean is available for private sessions either in person, by telephone or Skype. His website is www.stagefrightfreedom.com.
