I am afraid I have to disagree strongly about this. Not necessarily from a
personal point of view, or egotistical point of view (although it may be, who
knows), but from the point of view of someone who fervently believes in
self-empowerment. Much of my work involves animals. I run a group that
seeks to empower animal guardians to do their own thinking, rather than rely
on men and women in white coats with lots of letters after their names. By
abdicating responsibility to the 'experts' our animals are in a terrible
state. I have learnt this lesson the hard way, by following expert advice
and watching my animal friends die.

It has to come down to self-healing, self-help, and personal power,
irrespective of qualifications others dish out on the basis of their own bias!

So.... to use EFT effectively, you don't need to be a therapist. OK, so
therapists have lots of tools in their kitbags they can draw on if they get
stuck with EFT - but lots of non-therapists have their own tools, too. I,
for example, have Reiki, a strong knowledge of homoeopathy, Bach flower
remedies, herbs, etc., and I also have BodyTalk and Animal-Links, two other
meridian therapies. I have listening skills, and compassion, learnt over
many years of hard knocks, and as a Samaritan.

OK, so maybe there are some thick people out there who can't use EFT to help
others effectively, but I doubt it. EVERYONE has something to offer, and EFT
is such a simple therapy that any mistakes can be easily corrected. PLEASE
don't complicate EFT and say it can only be used effectively by experts.
EFT's simplicity is what makes it work.

Yes, therapists have training in other areas, and lots of experience. But
others have training in their own areas - and experience can be gained over
time. If someone is committed to helping themselves and others, gongs and
medals should have no bearing.

No-one is better than anyone else, except that their intention, or
commitment, or compassion, might be at a different intensity. If we put
people off by saying they're not good enough because they don't have x, y or
z, then the whole purpose of EFT is smashed. (I guess you can recognise I
feel very strongly about this!)
