Dear Mark,

Although the meridians are connected with the chakras in some way, as the
chakras are with the aura, and as the meridians are with our organs and
muscles and nervous system and thought field, I, personally do not think of
chakra work as meridian work. I think of meridian work as a sub-set of
energy work, which embraces all of these forms of subtle energy. I'm
interested in how others see this.

For learning Reiki, I recommend Diane Stein's book, Essential Reiki, but
it's no good, without the attunements, which must be received directly from
a teacher who has received the attunements and training.

I wonder if health application of Reiki could be viewed as a
meridian therapy?

I noticed that hands are placed on or close to "chakras",
again, covering all the meridians. With two hands in place
energy could be rerouted from where it's too much of it
to where it's too little energy, resulting in more balanced
organism.

Also could one learn Reiki from a book, or attunement is
a must? If book is OK which would be the best one?
