Claire Weekes’ in her book Self Help For Your Nerves explains that the only way to desensitize your body and stop panic attacks altogether is to move through panic attacks, welcome them even, while letting time pass.
In order to move through panic one has to gather one's courage and as Claire Weekes put it, you literally have to let panic 'burn the roots of your hair' while asking for more.
This is a tall order for panic attack sufferers as by definition they are people who cannot tolerate the symptoms of panic attacks - palpitating heart, suffocating grip on the chest, feelings of unreality and going mad, this is just too much for them.
However, the only way to end panics is to NOT BE AFRAID OF THEM so the advice is sound but how does one move through the fear to get to the other side?
Well now we have EFT to assist. A simple way to defuse the fear while being able to watch the symptoms without resisting and trying to push them away.
It really is possible to watch, welcome and ask for more panic using EFT while remaining completely centred and calm. And the more you can do this and honestly ask to experience more panic, the sooner the panics will stop.

Please note though that it does not matter how many times is required before the panics stop because when you use EFT the panic attacks no longer hold any fear. You simply move through the panic effortlessly, just like experiencing another annoying headache that you know will soon pass.
