History
In 1998, The AMT had one certificated syllabus called the “Meridian & Energy Therapy Practitioner” and over the years we’ve proudly added many more qualifications available for our trainers to teach. Unfortunately, each one had a slightly different certification procedure which added unnecessary complexity, confusion and delay to registering students.
Following the merger of EmoTrance into The AMT, we decided to create a universal procedure that made it clear and concise what trainers needed to do to run trainings and issue certificates. In affect, we have decided to adopt the EmoTrance “Seal Certification Procedure” because it has proven itself the most efficient and reliable procedure to date.
From 1st January 2012, this is the new certifying procedure for all AMT trainings. However, if you are certifying "Meridian Therapy Practitioners" or "Meridian Therapy Advanced Practitioners" then you may continue using the previous system until 1st January 2013 to give you more time to make the switch. See: MET Prac & MET Advanced Prac Exemption
Hopefully in the not to distant future, we’ll release the fully online registration system we have been working on for a few months. This will allow trainers to login to the database and upload members details direct. We do not have an ETA for this update yet.
The Seal Certification Procedure
With the exception of the MET Practitioner, you’ll need to have your students certificates printed and ready by the end of your training, as long as they have come up to the required standard.
Once they have passed the requirements of the syllabus and agreed to the code-of-conduct you then attach an AMT Licensing Seal which confirms that the certificate is genuine and endorsed. The student is then given the certificate which confirms they have passed the course.
- Additional Information for Meridian Therapies Practitioner: This syllabus asks for a number of case-histories and a written exam to be submitted before you issue the students certificate. You still purchase membership seals from The AMT office, but you will need to post the certificate to students once they have completed this post-training part of the syllabus.
The cost of the seal also pays for that person to be a member of The AMT for a year. Once the year has passed they’ll be invited to renew their membership.
Note: If they are already an up-to-date member, then their renewal date is pushed back so they won’t have to renew as soon.
Now they have their certificate, you’ll need to register them on The AMT database by giving the required information to the AMT office
Purchase Certification Seals
The price of AMT certification seals are:
- New Practitioners, Advanced Practitioners or Master Practitioners: £35.00
- New Trainers: £100.00
To pay for Practitioner, Advanced Practitioner or Master Practitioner certificate seals:
- Online bank transfer: To save on card processing charges, we prefer direct online bank transfer payments:
- Card Payments & PayPal: The following PayPal link allows you to pay by PayPal or Credit/Debit Cards (you no longer need to open a PayPal account):
- Cheques: We can also accept £GBP cheques through the post, but this will cause a couple of weeks worth of delay so most trainers find this method unsuitable. Our address can be found on our contact page
MET Practitioner & MET Advanced Practitioner Exception
Because trainers often work months in advance, we are still accepting new MET Pracs or MET Advanced Prac using the old procedure up until 1st January 2013. This is to give trainers plenty of time to switch from the old "Postal" certification procedure to the new “Seal Certification” procedure. In this period, you are encouraged to use the new procedure but may use the previous procedure if you so wish.
For reference, the old Postal procedure was:
- After the training, the trainer would send us the following (preferably via email/PayPal/online transfer, but also by post): Signed Code-of-Conduct, Practitioner Information Sheet & Payment for £50.00 (MET Prac) or £35.00 (MET Advanced Prac)
- On receipt, the AMT office then produces the certificate, attaches the membership seal, signs and then posts the certificate to the trainer
- Once these certificates are received by the trainer, they then need to counter-sign them and post them on to the student
The problem with this system is that it delays the student receiving their certificate by a number of weeks. Post also can go missing (causing further delay) and we also find practitioner information more time-consuming and error-prone to be entered onto the database if we can’t copy & paste from an electronic source. It is also more expensive to register a new MET Practitioner (£35.00 new system vs £50.00 old system) due to the additional administrative overheads involved in processing their application.
